Rush Limbaugh has died. Donald Trump shows us who he is yet again.

When people show you who they are, believe them.” The great John Lewis passed away a few months ago, then President Donald J. Trump said nothing. Today news hits that Rush Limbaugh has died, and, according to The Hill Reporter, Trump calls into Fox News to give a “eulogy.” During the call, Trump proceeds to push the “Big Lie” about the presidential election. The same Big Lie that led to the attack on the Capitol.

As for Trump, honoring Limbaugh, while largely ignoring the death of John Lewis, is difficult to reconcile. Unless, of course, one considers the history of bigotry stemming from the former President. Trump’s involvement in the tragic Central Park Five Case is one many New Yorkers remember. The USA Today compiles certain additional dubious Trump conduct here.

We are not here to engage in a prolonged rundown Rush Limbaugh. A timeline of “Rush Limbaugh’s Most Racist Quotes” and “Destructive Commentary” speaks for itself. His history is well written, his antics well known.

Be that as it may, whatever one thinks of Limbaugh, Trump largely ignoring the death of an icon like John Lewis, while jumping on Fox News to eulogize Limbaugh and push the Big Lie, speaks volumes about who Donald J. Trump is as a person.

Legacies

John Lewis stood for everything Trump knows nothing about. Fighting for what’s right, fighting for justice, fighting for a seat at the table, fighting for Civil Rights. John Lewis talked about getting into “Good Trouble.” The trouble Trump is most familiar with is the type that follows malignant narcissists. John Lewis was all about the people. Donald Trump is all about Donald Trump.

“Every generation leaves behind a legacy. What legacy will be is determined by the people of that generation. What legacy do you want to leave behind?” ~ John Lewis

Rush Limbaugh has died. His legacy is cemented.
